Team Blue Membership
I was having a bit of a squiz at the FPV website the other night (about a month ago) and I was viewing the FPV merchandise when I had a thought.
Team Blue membership is $89. Why the hell should I pay for this? Wouldn't buying a new FPV automatically qualify me, let alone two? So I sent an email off suggesting as much. Got an answer the following day indicating my query had been passed on to FPV for consideration.
Guess what, month later .... nothing.
It's not about money, if you can afford a $70K GT, you can obviously afford a $90 polo shirt. For me, it's about principal, everybody likes to feel they are getting a deal or discount or even better, something for free!
To my line of thinking at least, there are only so many people out there with $70K+ to waste on these sort of cars. Once they had secured a customer, wouldn't FPV do all they could to retain that customer's loyalty in an attempt for future repeat business? Makes sense to me.
We all know times are good at the moment, and new car sales are at an all time high. What about a year or two from now, when the economy isn't quite so strong? Those with the $70K will be fewer and FPV will be competing in a much narrower market. What sells then? Assuming the FPV & HSV product are similar, loyalty will play a big role.
I'm not sure who's in charge of marketing at FPV, but my 4 year old daughter is looking for a job, surely she couldn't do any worse.
End of Rant.
