Since new my GT-P has had a spongy brake pedal and if I push too hard on the pedal it goes right to the floor. I was wondering if anyone else has found this problem with the Brembo brakes on their car.

Sounds like air in your break lines. That said, it could be the master cylinder is cactus.

Master cylinder has been replaced under warranty, no difference. With engine off brakes pump up and pedal stays firm, but if I hold pressure and start engine it goes to the floor. This would indicate booster or vacuum leak but service dept doesnt want to keep replacing non-faulty parts and FPV says it can only be the master cylinder.

What are the brakes like when driving? you dont drive around with the motor turned off. I know with my Brembos they feel a little soft, but it stops like no other car i've ever owned......

about 18 months back there were some issues with brembo's.. Aussie Pete had problem, try doing a search or send Pete a PM or email..

No problems with my brembo's....except the seat belt bruise.

Pedal is solid as a rock on my Brembo's. If your pedal is going to the floor keep taking it back till they get it fixed and give them hell about it!!

Who gives a shit if they replace parts that are not faulty. If you have an accident because of this fault your solicitors would have a field day ( or the solicitors representing your deceased estate would ).

To me brakes are one of those things that cannot be compromised.


Bottom line with the dealer fix the brakes and don't return the car until you have got it right. From memory under the extended warranty that comes standard witrh the GT and the GT-P if your car cannot be repaired within 24 hours they need to provide you with a reasonable equivalent until they can do so.
