what is the true weight of the GT? The herald sun in their review of the GT (a 5 starer!) said that it weighs 1740kg (Herald Sun GT road test (30/5/2003)) and other people have been saying it weighs 1835kg. Surely if it weighed 1740 against 1835 it would go much harder?
According to the weighbridge I parked mine on - with 2/3rd of a fuel tank and no driver but maybe 6-7 Kg of personal junk, my GT-p weighs in at 1821 Kg.
Wheels say the the GT weighs in at 1825 kg, which is probably the figure from the brochure. Your GT weighed 1821 kg. Minus your 6 kg of personal stuff and .66 kg per litre of fuel in the tank (44 litres approx) which would be about 27 kg, you get 1782 kg which is under fords claim for the XR8, which is 1795 kg!

How do you keep the fuel in with only 2/3s of a fuel tank????

anyway.. I have always been curious as to how companies specifiy these weights.. do they specify them as fully specified or the opposite, and how much fuel , cooland etc do they use?

As russellw posted, Ford's weight includes all fluids and a tank of juice.
