TSB for GTP T3850 - hard to change gear

Does anyone know if there was a TSB for 'hard to change' T3850 boxes.

I know there were complaints in past, and car has finally got in to dealership for them to look at.

Symptoms? Hard to change 1st to 2nd, 2nd to 3rd, 4th to 3rd, 3rd to 2nd, 2nd to 1st. Feels like synchro not meshing and gears having a little 'graunch' when changing. Car has done over 15000km. Not too many problems in too many gears.

Ford have told dealer that original oil must stay in box, that original oil is only oil that is 'certified' to be in box, and owner to continue driving it until they decide cannot put up with it anymore, and then they will 'revisit' problem. Der - that is why it is in there in first place! Is there really anyone that actually works at FPV that makes decisions?

All credit to the dealer - they have been very good.

Any suggestions?

I also have a gearbox like that but I thought it was the GT thing, like diff clunks and stuff. Mines due for 15000k service in Jun was waiting till then to do something about it. I will keep watchin your posts to see if you have a win. Went for Sunday drive on the weeknd , thought I would wind it up a bit leaving cafe 1st,2nd,3rd and then went to go to 4th and luckily the reverse synchro didnt mesh at 150 k's. Ouch. Maybe a sureshifter would fix it.

Sounds like clutch drag, not gearbox.
