There is a black XT V8 that visits my work every now and again with a twin system exactly like the one in the pic, i'm sure the complete exhaust system has been changed on it as its got a lovely deep note, and louder than a XR8/GT.
Next time I see it, i'll grab a pic and ask the driver about it - an extremely attractive girl too :)

Also seen a BA V8 ute with the same setup.

Certainly does look good, take a look at the good old poontang and see how good they look

One thing however, with me not knowing a great deal about the physics of good exhaust design, Rob Herrod has said that a twin 2.5" system was trialled for the BA, but they found that after it was routed around fuel tanks, diffs etc and installing heat shields, the single 3" system ended up being the better, still sounds and goes ok too

But all depends on what path to take!

As a general rule, a good breathing single will always work more effectively. Many twin systems on 'standard' engine's result is a greater loss of back pressure resulting in a slight loss of power particularly down low. On the other hand if you have a fire breathing engine, it's not really a problem. (i.e. may be a good option for the BOSS 290 but not so much the 260/220)

At the end of the day in most cases we are talking about a loss of an est.5kw. Weigh that up against looks, cost and sound and you will have your decision.
