Interesting comments. I've recently been in a Typhoon. It's got great GO and sounds beaut... but as far as grunt goes, my 270rwkw LS1 would leave it behind ... by a looooong way, I reckon. That's not taking anything away from the Typhoon, it's just that I'm surprised given you had similar power from your old GT, that the Typhoon is so much quicker?

Is your Ls1 modded to get 270 rwkts....??? You may leave it behind....but for a stock factory car....it's quite devastating on the road. Not trying to take any shine off the LS1 which are a beut motor in overall performance.....but bang for the buck is really the discussion here. If you remember the VL Turbo days...you will understand what I'm saying.

Cheers.

Mate we'll see what hapens when APS get their hands on this thing and throw in some bigger injectors and a Unichip . Everybody, myself included, is surprised by the Typhoons performance compared to my GT but I have let 2 other GT owners on the forums have a run and Redhawk owns a slightly modded GT and had also driven "The Boss", maybe I just got a flukey one or maybe the GT would edge away over 200. But the main thing is happiness with what you have and I am very very happy

Hey Boss 8.
I am no judge of quarter times but it would have to be low to mid 13s in my book GTP 330 has done a bit of tracked work and after he drove the car he reckons he'd stand on his head if he couldn't get a mid 13. I have never been one for thrashing the ba-Jesus out of a car for 1/4 of mile but by the sounds of things I'm gonna have to try it soon, very soon. I need to get at least 3000klm on it first though.

Go Doc, the Typoon will brain them...
them LS1's are nothing if you take there Edit and mods away 14.3sec quarter mile cars...i would look at SSbaby's comments as a compliment, The LS1 camp are watching..

Hi firefox,

Yes I have a cam. Not too many unopened LS1s with 270rwkw, I would think.

Guys, I, for one, believe that raw performance is overrated unless you plan to spend a lot of time at the track. Forget the stopwatches for a moment and be happy with your GTs and Typhoons cause they are GREAT performance cars. They will only get quicker! If I were considering a Ford, the GT would be my pick... only cause I love my V8s.

Cheers

Hey Mercturbo I'm bringing this Typhoon to APS real soon, perhaps in a fortnight so I'm gonna hang about for a week and catch up with some forum members . The GT went to Queensland for my sales manager where it shall live happily ever after

Did it go with all the mods? If so get him to log on here and keep in touch, be nice to keep track of that blue beast, I have fond memories of it. Oh and don't ditch turbo.com, there have been some apologies and regrets, they/we need/would like you to continue your info/opinions. Juviniles will eventually learn (we all do) he he.

Cheers mate

Pulled out the UNICHIP and the 80mm T/Body and Helix, everything else stayed. He is actually taking the car to Melb on the 26th for chrissie holidays. But I will be heading over next week. See ya before Santa does.
