Re: Viewing Your Car at FPV

Just call them. I was lucky enough that my car was there during the FPV day earlier this year. Tony Chesterman snuck me out back for a couple of happy snaps. All good service I reckon!

Just give them a ring and see how the progress is going, regarding the SIDO No. i received mine about 1 week after i ordered it but the whole process took about 14 weeks that includes being at Herrods for a couple of days, before pre-delivery.
Cheers John

Re: Viewing Your Car at FPV

I got my SIDO within the first week of ordering my GT-P as well. I would agree with GTP-320. My order took (give or take a week) about 14 weeks as well.

Some people have been stating up to 6 months to get a XR6 Turbo, but dealers here in Canberra are quoting about 3 months to get into a FPV.

took me 2 months to get a sido and another 2 months to be built(next week),should mean a total 5 month+ wait!

Re: Viewing Your Car at FPV

If you do not get your SIDO, then the dealer has not ordered the car through Ford. SIDOs are available as soon as the order is officially place in the Ford computer system.

Sounds like NOEL is getting the run around. I bought my car from a dealer that previously specialized in FTEs. (You know - TE/TS50s). They new the drill and got the car! Some dealers are new to FPV and do not quite know how the system works. Watch these dealers for quaranty/repairs. My dealer wanted to replace/repair any minor thing I mentioned as he stated he didn't pay for it - it was covered by Ford/FPV. Some other threads, like the gearbox thread show some dealers do not give two hoots after they have your green folding stuff.

cool

Hey guy's!.........I couldn't help but notice you may be getting the runaround by dealers regarding build times. Each dealer is allocated a certain amount of product each month. You need to be careful when placing an order because somtimes they may be sold out 3 or 4 months in advance.Which means that you wait all this time before you actually receive a sido number.Your dealer can tell you when your car has reached FPV and at this point can take you out for a personal tour, which is well worth it.
Anyway whether you wait 8 weeks or 8 months it is well worth it.The BA is absolutely awsome and I have not spoke or heard of one owner that has been dissatisfied.
