Motul Turbo lite 4100. Top of the tree in Moto oils for ages, just as good at car products.

Re: What type of Oil do you use ?

As long as it is rated at 0W40 it should be OK.
I used Mobil 1 for my oil change.

Re: What type of Oil do you use ?

Shell ultra 5W50 in the XR6.

I tried Castrol R and personally wont be using it again. I'll stick with Shell.

On a side note, I have to say that Shell has served me very well, I have always used it in the EF and after 210,000kms it is still going strong on the onriginal head gasket!!!

Re: What type of Oil do you use ?

Penrite HPR10 (10w50) in my Boss260. While the handbook suggests 10w30, Penrite consultant recommended 10w50 for 10w-30 applications. Their website also recommends the 10w50 for cars where handbook specifies 10w-30. Just to confuse things though, their sites oil recommendation 'wizard' suggests HPR5 (5w40) for the Barra 220 and Boss260 engines and I quote "Ideal where this viscosity or a SAE 5W/10W-30 is recommended, also for new vehicles under warranty"

Why would they recommend one oil grade for "under warranty" engines and a different one for other cases?

Re: What type of Oil do you use ?

I find Shell Helix is good quality and price for semi syn oil. But I change my oil every 5000k's anyway so I dont even feel like theres noticable difference when I drive. It just gives me piece of mind though.

I have also used Penrite & Pennzoil and have found these are good brands to use if on a budget. Castrol magnatec I have used in the past but have heard some nasty things happening to others cars that have used this.

Valvoline Engine Amour is also and excellent alternative too. Especially if you have a 5ltr.
