What's your opinion on the new GT ?

Just wondering what your thoughts are on the MK2 GT ,such as the new color's, the duel guage,the new wheel on the GTP and of course the Boss 290 decal on the bonnet bulge.
I'm not too keen on the decal,the new blue that replaced the Blueprint seems to be ok any other ideas out there ?
Cheers John

Re: What's your opinion on the new GT ?

The new GTP rims are my pick of the entire range, usurping the MK1 GTP rims from the top of my list! The new manual box is a great improvement, but I was expecting VCT to finally be released on this model too. Overall, worthwhile improvements but I still think FPV could have done a bit more.

My biggest concern is that they aren't doing anything about engine improvements. VCT on the Boss has been a long time coming, and still no sign of it. This is dissappointing. FPV are in a power war whether they like it (or admit it!), or not! Consequently, they should be raising the bar with each model release. Seems that we are stuck with a factory 290kW for another year or more. Oh dear!

Colour = Some good new colours, that blue is great.

Guages = Rice Rice Rice

Wheels = Not bad

Bonnet Decal = Poor effort, I've see better efforts from dealers.

Re: What's your opinion on the new GT ?

Do FPV have the ability to install VCT on those heads or does that work have to come from the USA?

If this MK2 is close to the LS2 I will return home. However judging by the Xr8 times I won't be holding my breath.

Yes Yes Yes I know there are more important things but my purchase has to be credible as a performance car and have acknowledgment in this area with out me having to prove it, is import to me.

Oh and Ford would have to match the price of the R8 spec for spec

Re: What's your opinion on the new GT ?

Those new wheels on the GTP look very similar to the alloy wheels on the VZ Calais and I don't care much for them on either car.
I think the new colour velocity ( light blueprint in colour) looks like Blueprint oxidised to the extreme. Not my cup of tea.
Very keen to here some feed back on the new diff ratios and six speed box.
Lets hope the shift is better then the one in the holden!
FPV had the ascendency with the release of the BA GT and suffered some critism about weight and performance in comparison to it opposition. Yet they only really made cosmetic changes.
BA GT owners have done all the r&d work for credible improvements yet none of them made it to the new model.
