I was just looking on the net for Helix Spacers. Most of the ones I found that may go close to a 5.4l were between US$ 85 and US$105 wich converts to about A$112 to A$138......the herrod Helix Spacer is A$295. Can anyone legitimatly explain why there is such a premium.
The headers are another story as is with the cold air intakes.

We had this discussion when the Stealth came out as to how much FAT they would put on it.
As it would seem they are still piling it on thick and fast.

Try Battens helix, not sure of the price but from what I've heard they are very reasonably priced. I've got the Herrod one only 'cause I got it 2nd hand for a great price.......thanks Doc.

Sometimes one needs to look further than price, there are those that will buy on price alone and others that look for quality and backup. Rob supplies premium products at a realistic price and stands behind them 110%. I myself prefer to buy a product that I know has beeen tested and proven.
If you have an issue why not call Rob and talk to him about the quality etc, no real need to condemn the man in public without first talking to him.

I am not condeming him I am just asking why....when you can buy Helix spacers for a wide variety of cars in the US for around $US85 (A$112) and you have to pay $295 which equates to 263% difference. Now I know the man sells top quality products....I am not disputing that.....I am just asking why they are so much more than what is available in the US
It maybe that he has spent alot of money on R&D and that he has to recoup that....that would be understandable

Why is there a premium? Because they can! They know people are going to buy it at nearly whatever price they set. Why? Because they realise most car enthusiasts have more money then sense (or don't, but will still pay for it anyway). Sad fact, but it's the truth. That's business.
As others have said, don't like it? Convey this with your wallet! Don't buy their products :)

I must be a little different than the average than the car enthusianst....I work hard for my money....I generaly research the products available for both quality and price.
Given the research I have done so far on the Helix Spacer, Cold Air intakes and underdrives I wont be giving my business to anyone who charges a premium just because people will it. I will give my business to the business I feel gives me the best value for money which includes products, service and general advice.

Far out, what is this? The "We Love Rob Herrod' forum or something?
Shit guys, he does some good work, but i agree - there is no way in hell i would payr $xxx for his gear when something is exactly the same for almost half the price! It's a legitimate question, so before you all go and form a big protective circle around him, why dont you think about that?
Rob Herrod is a big boy I'm sure, I have no doubt he can canswer the question without his fanclub attempting to sweep it under the carpet YET AGAIN.
