When you are at the beach it does anyway.
Of course you wouldn't really expect to find a large quantity of it in the inlet tract of your Boss engine would you?
As the enclosed pics show, it has happened and more than once from the research I have been doing.
Now casting sand is particularly coarse and I would have to say that if this was my inlet then I'd be wanting a closer look at the bore condition, particularly when there is sand also present in the plenum chamber. Sadly, it appears that FPV disagree with that analysis as they have so far declined to do anything about the issue; preferring to take the line that it isn't likely to cause any lasting damage. No actual engineering proof - but just an opinion.
While I am handing out the odd brickbat let's not forget AW Bell of Dandenong and their quality control people - this should never happen in a quality accredited organisation.
