You know how sand just gets everywhere??

When you are at the beach it does anyway.

Of course you wouldn't really expect to find a large quantity of it in the inlet tract of your Boss engine would you?

As the enclosed pics show, it has happened and more than once from the research I have been doing.

Now casting sand is particularly coarse and I would have to say that if this was my inlet then I'd be wanting a closer look at the bore condition, particularly when there is sand also present in the plenum chamber. Sadly, it appears that FPV disagree with that analysis as they have so far declined to do anything about the issue; preferring to take the line that it isn't likely to cause any lasting damage. No actual engineering proof - but just an opinion.

While I am handing out the odd brickbat let's not forget AW Bell of Dandenong and their quality control people - this should never happen in a quality accredited organisation.

Cheers
Russ

Jeez!

And Pete thought his brake problem was bad!

FPV really need to wake up to themselves in the area of customer relations if they're trying to play this one down!

FPV cannot afford to ignore this, I was always less than impressed with QC at Ford/FPV. That is astonishingly attrocious.

Re: You know how sand just gets everywhere??

Holy casting sand batman!

And the E-guys reckon its bad when it blocks up your radiator!!
I cant beleive they dont want to look into it further. How the hell could sand not damage an engine, we have airfilters to stop dust that could damage the engine over time but sand wont hurt it!?!?!?

Wake up fellas!
