The alternator failed 2 weeks ago and we had it replaced. Well, the same things happened again yesterday where all of the lights, PS, etc. shut down and the car died. The car was towed to the Ford dealer where the work was done and the alternator has tested bad. What could cause this to happen again so soon besides installation of a bad alternator?

hey i can kinda help solve your mystery alternator failure, the SVT focus has bad cables leading from the battery so go to autozone or whatever parts store you like more and buy new terminals. that should solve the problem. look at the way they are clamped to the battery, ford screwed up on that part
