Look at an 04 ford lightning with sub 30k on the clock, and an IMMACULATE body. No dings, no scratches... just amazing...

I was out looking for a truck, and this caught my eye at a dealership... after a quick (literally ) testdrive I decided to do some homework and see what kind of down payment I could muster up in a week...

But speaking of homework... I was wondering if there were any issues one should be aware of that these trucks are known for. Other than guzzling gas and burning rubber that is.

They want just under 25k for this truck, and after looking up pricing that seems fair for the condition and low milage. However, I am prepared to make an offer of 22k to see if they bite. Its certified used and comes with a 2 y/r or 75k on the clock warranty.

The other question is... just how much power can one make w/o digging into the engine? I'm talking smaller pulley, air intake, intercooler work, etc.

This would make a great daily driver, and tow vehicle for an autocross car lol

The price sounds good. Frist thimg I would do is try to talk to the previous owner and find out what mods if any have been done to it. I have an 04 and would'nt trade it in on any thing . They do like to drink and use rear tires.

there aren't any problems at all with these trucks unless when you swap pulleys if you don't upgrade the plugs you will start melting plugs when racing the motor. the average i see on these trucks with a pulley swap, intake, exhaust, and tune is right around or a lil over the 400-415rwhp mark and around 500rwtq.
