My clutch or flywheel on my '04 Focus SVT makes noise at low speeds, especially in 1st or 2nd gear. Just inching along barely touching the gas pedal brings it on. Could be something else but when I depress the clutch pedal it continues for a second and then stops. Anyone else experienced this??

Sounds like your pilot bearing or something has contaminated the flywheel surface, or cracked it, or your clutch surface. Has it been replaced recently that you know of? If so, they could have mis aligned the clutch, or got grease on the flywheel and didnt clean it properly. Or, you could have a rear main going out and making the flywheel slip. But thats my thought.

Could be noisy / worn clutch release bearing .

I thought about that, but usually they only make noise when you have the clutch down, in disengagement, because thats when it is spinning under load. But either way, he needs to take that clutch and flywheel out and whatever it is will be very obvious to him.

Dual-mass flywheel is another very common cause of this fault .
