Hi all

I've just bought an ST170 and have discovered a couple of issues with it - knocking from the rear suspension & misting headlights. From reading through the posts in the threads here - looks like some people have had similar or other issues. I've set up a site at www.quirky170.com to collate details of the various problems people have had, and the solutions to them, in the hope that existing & new owners will have a place where they can work out what's (if anything!) is wrong with their ST/SVT and what to suggest to the dealer if they take it in. Is this a Focus you are talking about?

Yes in Europe and in Australia the Focus is called a focus, but the SVT versions from here are st170's if i remember correct.

The concerns you mention are not limited to the ST170, headlamps have been a problem from the outset, but should have been eliminated by now- the lamps crack at the very top corner due to mounting point strain and water ingress results. Modified headlamps were brought out to address.
Rear suspension knock in most instances was found to be one or both shock-absorbers.
