Which tires should i buy - Ford Forums - Mustang Forum, Ford Trucks, Ford Focus and Ford Cars

Sup guys,

Right now I have firestone firehawks 245/45/17z on my cobra. These tires have served me well. And I was thinking about getting another set. Does anyone know any other tires that are good for my car and had experience with them?

well I used toyo tyres on my EB XR8 and had good milage with them. I live in a valley in Wellington NZ and the council put a very agressive chip on the hill and the tyres outlasted any other brand that I tried eg:Bridgestones,uniroyals,firestone these tyres only lasted about 6 months at the most but the toyos have lasted 10 months so far. Otherwise uniroyals are an excellant tyre hope this helps ya

What size tires do you have? And do you have the hard compound or the soft?

The size tyres I use are 235 x 45 x 17'' the uniroyal's were a soft compound and very grippy in the wet the bridge's were a medium compound and the toyo's were a medium compound they were the of the list in the toyo range and they cost me $220.00 each NZ but they were great for where I live I hope this helps. The uni's were bald and I still had great grip on the hill. So if you don't have aggresive chip they would be the way to go. The uni's come in all sizes but are quite expensive.

BF Goodrich has the best traction around even in the rain I have a buddy that owns a tire and repair shop and got to go test tire on a test track it had curves and then had a wet section and he said the BF's never broke loose through this section thats what I'm going to when I get my money out the tires I got.

I have 17x10.5 SVTwheels 27 mm off set and was wondering how wide a tire I could go to with out rubbing that bolt?
