'05 w/Mach system, can't use own CD's????

That's freaking me out! New owner here, when I put my recorded CD's into the stack, they played, then started jumping around, skipping, while NOT moving the vehicle!

Then I read the manual, where it states "recordable or re-recordable CDs may not work"....

The discs work fine on other auto and home systems, so I know the discs are fine. The discs have NO labels and are not stuck in the changer, they just skip around.

That's NUTS! I can't make my own mix? Ridiculous.

Anyone have workarounds on this one? Thanks.

Buy good quality CD-R and burn at a slower rate, just say around 16x. This should work.

Thanks. Using current technology, even stepped it back to 4x on two of the discs to redo them last night, same problem. Seems odd that an '05 would have this conflict.

Appreciate the suggestion though.

Does it only do it with CD-R? have u tried original cd music in there? Apart from that I really have no idea, maybe the laser isn't working as well as it should be.

Maybe someone else can shed light on whether they have this issue with an 05 car? my brothers 04 works perfectly, but i do notice if you burn the cd's too quick it will have issues. maybe you just copped a lemon.

I got it working. I went back into my burn software and knocked the speed WAY down. 16x was not the answer...same problem there. Burned at 4x and they all work fine now. What a silly setup though. I've got several other vehicles ('00, '03, '04) and they all handle the CD-R's at high burn rate without a hitch.

Appreciate the heads up, guys. Thanks!
