ok, the first question is related to my stereo (yet to be purchased)
im not going all out straight away...but definitely head deck, 6X9's in the rear...and MAYBE front speakers as well....
because i know practically nothing about the technical side of car audio stuff....i want un biased advice in here so the dealer doesnt try and screw me...
ill post links of the stuff i plan to get...and if someone can tell me if ill need amp(S) plz....
You don't 'need' and amplifier, but if you want to realise the real potential of the speakers you have chosen, then an amp is probably not a bad idea.
It depends on how loud you listen as an amplifier will produce much higher distortion free SPL and it will sound better doing it as the amp will have better control of the drivers.
All you need is a modest 50wrms x 4 amp and it will have bucket loads of power.
ED installations are very easy.
2 screws hold the plastic facia, pull down and it falls out, and unplug the lights.
To remove the head unit you'll need a torx driver to undo the 2 screws.
Buy the correct plug to mate it all togther and Bob's your uncle.
Rick.

What's that?..... Did I hear you say TQE power?
i doubt ill need the last 1....but maybe the middle 1....and dont pay too much attention to the RRP on the site.....the head deck i posted...RP on site - $499 but they sell it at autobarn for $389 not on special...
what about the speakers? were the ones i showed decent?
Either one of those 4 channel units will be fine.
You'd be surprised how loud 35w x 4 will be with efficient speakers.
Yes, your speaker choice looks fine.

thanks for ur help there rick.....id still like to hear other ppl's opinions too :)
and at first...i didnt like the look of those pioneer amps...but they grew on me...now i love them :D
Hmmm should be a nice little system. If you do get the 6x9's, don't cut your parcel shelf, illegal and big bucks to get a new one welded in if you get caught. Use spacers of some sought.
For the amount of money, you can't really get much better. Would you consider ever getting a sub?

a sub (or two ) might be on the cards for later...but first things first....head deck and rear speakers....for some reason there were no rear speakers on the parcel shelf of the car i MIGHT be buying....its a tx5 telstar ghia...maybe they are hidden some where else?
about the parcel shelf.....what are these spacers? my brother got 6X9's in his old EA...and i dont remember him having to cut anything at all ?
if the spacers are like a piece of wood or something like that...id rather risk cutting the shelf because i want my speakers to sit as flush as possible....i hate speakers that are sticking out alot...
I personally wouldn't bother with spacers either (I also feel they look like crap).
In my experience if the job is done properly no one will give it a second look. You actually don't have to remove any metal from the shelf anyway, just cut slots and fold the metal enough so the speakers fit. That way if by chance it did get picked on, the folded metal would simply be folded back and welded up again.

Yeah a definately agree they look shite, but it's better then get a defect notice when the money could be better spent elsewere. I'm not a fan of 6x9's, and since your getting a sub anyway, they are quite useless. Better to get a set of 6.5 inch speakers if a sub is coming soon...

That sounds sensible to me......
