2006 Ford Fusion - Dead Radio Display

Good evening all,

I have a 2006 Ford Fusion 3.0 SEL, the problem that I'm having is that the screen no longer works (it's completely black). I have the stock CD-player. It died slowly, in that it was slowly becoming dimmer and dimmer. What's odd is that before it died we could push on the screen and it would brighten for a time.

Does this problem sound familiar to anyone? Is there an easy fix? If I have to replace parts of the radio, am I looking at just the screen or the entire deck?

Any help is appreciated

I think this is exactly what is wrong. I've opened up the radio and found the resistors, and the cracks in the solder are so bad that I can actually lift one edge of a resistor!

Nice find, thanks. I'm going to try to solder it tomorrow, I'll let you know how it works.
