I recently bought 2 Kenwood Speakers. The guy at the store told me that I needed 5-1/4" Speakers in the front. Turns out thats not right. So this is how I did it. By the way I own a 1994 Ford Escort, 2-door, Hatchback.

First off I took the door panel off and took out the stock speakers. I needed to make a ring for the new speakers to fit in and look natural.

Next was mounting holes and wire splicing. Mounting the holes for the ring was pretty hard you need to angle the screws in order to hit the metal.
Then it was off to reinstalling the door panel and mounting the new speakers in. It was alot easyier when I made that ring on the inside, because the speaker isn't pushing in on the panel now. So here is the finished product.
