I just removed my factory installed stereo in my 2005 explorer and replaced it with a Pioneer mp80. This head unit is good for 60 watts. I replaced the rear speakers with some Pioneer 6x8's that i had laying around. I want to add some good Alpines to the front and then I want to consider an amp. How do I go about hooking the amp Up?

Aside from power, ground and remote, To hook up the amp you should run 4 channel RCA's to the amp from the back of the radio. The mp80 you have has 3 preouts so you can do independent fronts, rears, and a sub if you wanted. From the amp to the speakers you have a couple of options. You can run speaker wire back behind the radio and splice into the speaker leads there. (easiest way) Or you can run completely new wires to each speaker. (A little bit harder to do but will sound better if you use good speaker wire)
