Amp Wiring Question

Hi guys,
I am about to put in a two channel amp to power my sub, at the moment i have a 4 channel, powering my sub and rear speakers.
With the 4 chan, i will power the fronts and rears, and power the amp with the 2 chan.
Is this the best way to go?
Will i need to run another power lead from the battery to the second amp, or can i just put a junction in the line i have?

Re: Amp Wiring Question

That should be ok, depending on a couple of things.
1. Does the "2 ch amp" bridge out to more power than wat 2 channels of the "4 ch amp" does? If so go this way because the more power to the sub the better

2. as for the power lead wat size is it? 8 awg probably the minimum size to go with, but i would look at least running 4awg power wire, especially when using 2 or more amps. if so then u should have no probs running the amps unless u have really high wattage demands

hope this helps and i welcome other opinions
