BA Alarm Chirps???
My XR was fitted with a genuine alarm at the dealer.
When I got it home I realised that there was no 'chirps' when locking or unlocking the car. I spoke to the dealer to make sure that it was installed???
They assured me that it was, so I opened a window and opened the car, sure enough, it WAS installed.
The dealer informed me that when I took it in for the 'Peace of Mind Service' that they would turn the chirp facility on.
After this first service, the dealer informed me that the new Bosch alarms do not have a chirp function, I commented that ' how do you know if it's working?'
Anyways when I arrived home I realised that no when you press the lock button and the car is already locked, the horn now beeps (doesnt do this with alarm fitted aparently).
I thought I had better check if the alarm is working (Nah!!)
Spoke to Ford, they now say that I have a faulty alarm, but I still cant have chirps.....
Does anyone know if this is true or do they just not know how to use the Ford Gizmo to interogate the onboard computer????
