Hi,

I recently purchased a set of Rockford Fosgate 6.5Inch splits to be installed into my Falcon after recieving advice from Autobahn they they would have no problen installing them, turns out they were wrong as the speakers were to deep to fit inside either the door panel in the front and the back! Not there fault as they could not have known how deep the speaker size was,

My problem now tho is I have a set of speakers worth $250 and no were to put them? Any ideas on what i should do? is there anyway of custom shaping the back so they will fit? would this mean cutting thru metal tho..?

Make a carboard template of the hole the speaker screws into, and then buy a peice of 1/4 inch thick MDF wood and make a peice using the template to screw in between the speaker and the mounting hole. This will elevate the speaker a little and hopefully should provide the clearance you need.

Speaker build outs... Worked a treat in getting Alpine Type-Xs into the doors of my Ghia. They're just a fibreglass 'pod' that screws into where the old speaker used to live.

Thanks for the help, Straight after i made this post a fitter told me about the template option that panadawn mentioned but i found some pods from JB for 120 that matched the interior and decided on that option instead, now they fit great.
