i just my 2 12inch subs installed the bass good but i got a gas tank in the way subs. I think i can get my bass out of it I was tell i should cut a two hole in the parcel shelf and cover them with speaker covers. My question is would this work as in more bass?
ok, first, are the subs enclosed? if they are sealed in a box, (no port) then u can't do much cutting holes to increase the loudness (i tried). Need a better amp + power cables in that case.
If they are in a ported box then yes, cutting holes will help to increase air flow. If u make the holes too big, u lose a bit of punch out of the bass, the 'looser' bass u get u can acheive reel low frequency at higher volume.
If they arn't in a box it's a waste of time.
NC2 - with all the bells and whistles of course...
Bass doesn't need air to travel through, unlike mid and high frequencies. If you are not getting the Bass you want, why are you inder powering the subs? Be sure that the whol boot is sound deadened also.
