Which brand is the best, when money is no object?

I's say audison for amps and focals for speakers. But there are lots more which are even more expensive.

jvc are good. boston accoustic make excellent speakers too. i have 6x9 boston accoustic 2 ways and they cost $500. they thump and shit over any 3 way ive ever heard. also youll find with this brand you wont really need a sub either.
lightning audio are good too. both these brands are competiton series

I can order these from a mate in america for that price but in AUD obviously. Would this sub and amp be loud enough?

I'm no expert at sound systems, but I've had, used, and seen some awesome set-up's using Alpine subs. Visit the Alpine homepage and take a look around, some really nice stuff there.

IMO, I would take Alpine over the top of Sony any day. Although you will be paying a hell of a lot more for a really nice alpine sub.

Which brand is best were money is no option?? Very hard question as there is no real defined answer for this. Alot of it comes down to personal taste on the SQ side of things. Some good quality brands for amps include Audison, Trutechnology, Zapco etc. For speakers there's Focal, Dynaudio, Morel, Subs will include brands like Beyond audio, Rockford fosgate, Digital design for example. As dansedgli said, ALOT more expensive can be had, for example, Rainbow made a set of two way splits that retailed for around $14,000 aus mark :O There's a universe of brands out there, so as I said, a very hard question to answer....

What do you guys think of JL Subs, the 12W0 in particular. What amp would suit it best Phoenix Gold Octane-R 5.0:4?

Money is an object for me, im just trynna find the best brand.. for example if i'm lookin for a quality Video Camera, i go for sony, i know alittle about video camera's, but not much about car audio, yet.
