My brand new Sony head unit (see model number below) is skipping. It's really weird - only does it on some original (not burned) CDs. Doesn't do it at all on burned CDs, but on the new ones it's REALLY bad ... hardly needs any bump at all.

It's not easy for me to get to a JB Hifi to get it replaced. Does anyone have any opinions on what could be wrong? The only thing I could find in the manual was that it might be loosely installed (flapping up and down a bit at the back). It's in the top half of the double DIN slot, with a plastic pocket from the AU1 in the bottom half.

Any ideas?

If JB Hifi did the in the install, I'd blame the install.
