Double DIN Install in 98 Crown Vic
well i ordered a JVC indash DVD player assuming itd fit the crown vic hole. it says its a "double din" hole in the car but apparantly its not a TRUE double din hole. the Face of the stock stereo is the 7"x4" but the chassis of the stock radio is only 6.5" x 3.5" and narrows down to a single Din height halfway into the hole.
does anyone have tips or suggestions of how to modify the stock stereo pocket to accept a true double Din unit short of cutting out that plastic panel on the top side of the pocket? i really dont want to hack it up and cut holes in it. That is the AC duct for the driver side, right?
