Re: DVD/MP3 Player - Watch DVD Movies in your BA on the factory screen

Sorry guys for the late response, the email notifaction must be acting silly. Anyway. Ive had the unit in for a couple of months now. No probs. Personally, I think the DvDv player itself is ordinary. If you can get your hands on a BA adaptor seperately, go for it. Buit in all fairness, its a solid sturdy unit that even though not advertised, plays all regions. The bonus with the whole system though is you can plug anything into it, be an Xbox, video cam, PC(with video adaptor) etc. Also, you can literally just plug in up to 4 video outpus, no fuss. Anyone got any specific questions, I'm more than happy to help. If you're getting it installed in Canberra, steer clear of Audiotech Tuggeranong.
BTW - Rodney Rude sounds great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: DVD/MP3 Player - Watch DVD Movies in your BA on the factory screen

Elisha Joyner from Blaupunkt sent me short video of the multimedial interface in action. I had trouble loading from the published link, so I emailed her directly: Elisha.Joyner@au.bosch.com

Saw the short video also, have to agree I think it looks great.

I've got mine being installed this week. Also adding rear screens, the headrests have already been taken away for fitting.

I'll post some pics/details & feedback soon.

Cheers,

Unfortunately I seem to have a slight problem with the unit. After driving around for 10-15 minutes the screen goes blank , but audio continues. Took it back to the installers who got onto Blau who thought it might have been a problem with the player. New player arrived within 24hrs and was installed , but again the problem persisted. Blau have now sent a new interface to replace the original to hopefully correct the problem. All wiring and conections have been double checked. Hope to see the new interface in the next couple of days and will advise outcome. Again let me say that the installer and Blau's reaction to this problem have been first rate , although Blau felt that if the interface did fix the problem then the fault may be caused by something else in the car.

I have posted this message for two reasons. A) Has anyone else who has had the Blau unit installed experienced this problem and if so what was done to correct. B) Just to make people aware of this problem. Blau have told us that this is the first time that they have heard of this happening.
Just an update , after replacing the DVD , the interface and then finally the other box we have resolved the issue of screen drop out. In fact the clarity of the picture is a lot crisper than before. Hats of to the guys at Superline in Goulburn who were fantastic about the whole situation , kept on top of what was going on and could not have apologised more for the hassle even though it was not of their doing. Very Happy with unit.

Geeeeeees definately some talented people out there!

Before MP3 players came out for car systems my mate managed to hook a PC CDROM player up to his honda and make it play MP3s. Amazing stuff... this of course takes it to a new level!
Next challenge: A program to alter the BA's PCM parametre via the ICC. :o)

G'Day,

I did get it done.

What can I say, I'm stoked. The system is great & the quality of installation is A1.

Haven't had a chance to take photos yet. We drove to Qld the day after it was installed. Don't think I heard from the kids for the whole trip.
I'll try to get some photos on in a couple of days.

Send me a PM if your interested in any details.

Cheers,
Muzzzza...

Just the DVD.

I got Blaupunkt DVD player + Blaupunkt upgrade module (so I can watch on front ICC screen) + 2 x 5.6" screens custom fitted to headrests + 4 x infrared headphones & a heap of remote controls.

Regards,
Muzzzza...
