Re: Fairlane NC Ghia 91 suspension problem

Sounds like it's going into self-test mode. Weird! I had a problem with mine going up and staying there, which turned out to be the height sensor located somewhere near rear axle/diff. $90 to replace and problem solved. Yours sounds more like a code problem. Auto-sparky should be able to interpret that.

Re: Fairlane NC Ghia 91 suspension problem

Thanks for the tips...
I will get it looked at right away.

Im just curious though. I was reading about a simular model of car having auto suspension and it said there was a way of activating the self test feature. Is this present on my model car and if so how do i do it?

On mine (an NA) you turn on the ignition, open driver's door and press the light switch button in the door pillar I think 3 or 4 times in rapid succession, and the car should go up then down. There was a post about that about a week or two ago on the forums. Might even be a diagnostic/workshop soemwhere on the forums– have a search.

Re: Fairlane NC Ghia 91 suspension problem

Yes pressing on the door switch 3 times in one second will send it into self test mode (iginition on driver seated) and after it spends a minute or so pumping up and then uniflating the suspension it will flash a code that will tell you what's wrong. Post the code here and I will tell you what it means. It may just mean you simply have faulty door or dash light switch.

G'day Aussiblue

I completed the test and the "check suspension" flashed four times. Please let me know what this means.
Thanks for the help

Re: Fairlane NC Ghia 91 suspension problem

System Past So nothing wrong with SLS itself. I would be looking at faulty/ interia light door switch........................unless you have a habbit of starting the car or turning the ignition on before the family/kids start opening and closing doors pre journey.

Yeah sometimes i do have the doors open when the car starts. i didnt realise you needed them closed. What a the implications of leaving the door open, can it cause damage?

No damage; just switches on self test mode if the result is door switches are on and off 3 times in 1 second.
