Something is wrong with my radio.

The volume knob no longer turns the radio up and down, however the steering wheel controls to.

Does anyone have any idea what is wrong with it? It still turns from side to side but won't turn the volume up and down.

Any help appreciated.

Sounds to me like the actual electronic pot has failed behind the knob.

Three choices if this is correct are:

1. Ingore it and use the steering wheel controls
2. Get the unit repaired
3. Replace the unit with an aftermarket unit

2. Hmm, might look into it.
3. Nah, the stock one fits nicely.

This was after a weekend where I cracked the rear bumper loading in a 3 phase power distributor

Then had an 18 outlet power board crack my dash as some queenslander cut me off.

Now the radio :(
