Hey guys,
I have just recently fitted a budget audio setup into my EF and am having a few problems with the sub setup.

I am running a Kenwood KAC-941 4 channel amp and Clarion 600Watt 10inch sub. I have the sub setup so it is bridged on one of the channels. I have noticed that when i switch the high pass filter off the sub actually provides slightly more bass but I can hear a SMALL amount of higher frequencies through it. If I switch the filter on, it cuts out the higher frequencies but the sub sounds worse. I cant get as much bass out of it and it is not as clear and crisp.

I guess my questions are

Should I have the high pass filter on or off? ( the amp has a sub on or off switch which I assume is the low pass filter? )

Why does it sound worse with the high pass filter on?

Does anyone have any tips?

is there a sub-out on the head unit? if so make sure you use that for your sub amp.

i dont think so, its just a cheap pioneer DEH 1450 i think

with the pioneer HUs they usually have it switchable. For example it uses the front outpur RCAs as the supwoofer output, and you can switch it in the 'Func' menu when the unit is on standby mode. this should give you heaps better bass, and you wont need the filter thats on the amp.
