Re: How Can I Test the Factory Alarm?
Luke, If you have a look under your bonnet at the driver side just at the bottom of the windscreen near the plastic cover for your wipers you should see two silver bolt heads that are screwed through an oval shaped black metal plate. This is your alarm siren.(it's actually mounted in the bulkhead plenum with the wiper assy)
If you would like to check to see if it's working, simply lock the vehicle with your remote, wait 30 sec's,unlock the door using the key and the alarm should go off.
To deactivate the alarm simply lock the car with the remote then unlock with the remote and it should shut up.
Another way is to wind the RHF window down, lock the car with the remote, wait 30 sec's,reach in through the open window and pull on the inside door handle. The alarm should cut sick again.
To shut it up do the same as before.
Then lock the car again with the window still down, reach through the open window and pull the bonnet release. The alarm will once again cut sick. Shut the bonnet and deactivate as before.
Hope this helps.
Cheers
