Here some pics of my install. I'm using a Belkin car adapter which charges the iPod battery and provides a pre-amp for the audio which matches the radio and CD volume pretty closely. Their are no alternator whines are other forms of interference at all, the sound is crystal clear. The iPod is in easy reach from the drivers position, and the screen is easy to see too.

The iPod is mounted on a mobile phone holder, stuck to the dash. I painted the white Belkin cable with black satin acrylic model paint, and ran the cable under the side console cover. I'm using a wired double adaptor for power, which lets me hide the Belkin unit under the tissue box and still gives me an outlet for my phone charger.

Nice job Builty, am about to do a similar thing - what is the model number/name of the Belkin car adapter that you used? And how do you get the cables between the panels of the dash??
