I have a 2003 focus with the Mach500 6Disc changer, the cd doesnt work, and the volume knob does wierd things. I want to repace the Mach 500 sterio with an after market JVC. I need to know if the focus with the Mach500 has built in amp, and if so How do I go about installing the aftermarket radio?
I bought this car used, Noticed a mouting bracket in trunk, seems some either used car dealer or old owner liked the amps and sub woofer and took them out before selling me the car. radio sounds fine without but can I still change with wiring adapter?
Only way to tell for sure is to pop the radio. If it's been modified in the past, you never know if it's been bastardized or if they used an adapter. Scosche makes wiring adapters for just about everything, do if the wiring is still stock, should be easy.
Why would the radio be wired to spped sensor, parking brake and reverse gear ? that what the plug im missing goes to, one wire goes to speed sensor, one goes to turn on the amp, one goes to parking break, and one goes to reverse gear, and two go to an rca plug for the sub.. any ideas
If there's back up warning, when the alert goes off, it cuts out the radio. The speed sensor is to adjust audio with speed (quieter at idle, louder with speed). Not sure on the parking brake.
