completely depends on the car stereo and acoustics of the car.
i've found that i hear really good bass coming from my 6x9s, which at the moment is the only source of bass in my car. just the right shape and all i guess.
i either listen to skitzmix CDs or heavier stuff like rob zombie and deftones.
I've found that most music sounds good in my car, I've got Blaupunkt 4" 2ways in the doors and 7x10s in the back with a 2x150W Audioline amp for each of them, and a 10" Sansui sub in the boot in a dual port enclosure.
The music that I enjoy the most though just for the sound of it all would be the old Michael Jackson albums like Off The Wall and Thriller... And don't laugh, classical music... That would probably be my favourite, I love classical music aswell as everything else (especially the Hungarian dances though). Sounds clear, crisp and you hear every note beautifully.
i go for hip-hop music if im trying to feel my system, that "blow ya mind" track goes nuts, i can make my volt meter dance a full volt when i cain it (2000 rpm, brand new alternator). ice cube - pushin weight sounds good with a low ported or sealed sub. theres a track on the new jamiroquai album (9? i think?) that starts off with a little bit of "intro bass" then goes nuts. madonna - music is also a good track for subs.
otherwise im mainly into stuff like smashing pumpkins, radiohead, something for kate... etc.
any more suggestions? ill make up a "Bass CD". hehe.
Any rap and rnb, fav's have to be 2pac, dre, snoop, and the sort, but also stuff like creed sounds really good on my sealed sub, very clear and punchy.
When i need feel the need to not be able to hear for a while i have a proper bass tester called Bass erotica, so stupid, but the car shakes and rattles, and ur ears well.. hurt.
mmmmmmm metal.........stuff with some pounding double kick (double bass), and crunching bass/guitars.....NONE OF THIS CRAP NU-METAL tho.....Opeth/Iced Earth, sound kick ass
sorry byt dance/rap/r&b can't actually be clasified as music, as no musition is involved in them, just a drum machine and some dudes....
