I know the thick red wire is my constant power, but there are 4 wires i'm stuck on. There is no solid black wire, so i have no clue what my ground is. I also dont know which wires are my dimmer and switched power. The wires i'm stuck on are yellow w/blk stripe, orange w/blk stripe, light blue w/red stripe, and green w/yellow stripe. The car in question is a 1988 Tempo, the factory equipment being a cassette player w/o premium sound amplifier. If someone can translate the color code for me, please do. P.S. the factory wiring has been cut and the plugs aren't available anymore, so dont tell me to get an adapter

Got a voltmeter?
If so just run it from each wire to an earth and play with switches until something happens.

Or a 12v bulb and a bit of wire would do.

i got some of it figured out. the green w/yellow is my constant power, the orange/blk is my switched power, and the yellow/blk is my ground. the solid red actually has nothing to do with power or anything, which you would think it would.

You should be right with the three of those. Most aftermarket stereos don't have dimmers anyway.

On an aftermarket unit those three wires will be:

Yellow - Constant 12v
Red - Switched 12v (Acc)
Black - Gnd
