I want to install a simple sub and amp dunno which brand. I want something that sounds good and cheap as iam not that into it as its a daily driver car and dont wanna go to "sik" with it maybe on my other escort but thats another story. would i need to upgrade my alternator as its a escort and it has a 55amp alternator which has enough trouble already if so can i just get one say out of a EA 85amp and put that in would there any effect my mate reckons that ill cook the orignal wiring loom is that true??
ps ive heard some that a XF alterntor is a stright fit in a escort?
oh so far ive got a sony cd player cdx l490b and some anicent speakers that came out of my sedan escort that actually make more bass then the sony 5 inch 100 watt one that i got.

as long as u run ur own wiring for the stereo as far as i can tell the new alternator shouldnt effect the current wiring loom (since ur not gonna put any extra power thru it)

well if your just going to use a simple cheapish sub/amp combo your alternator will be fine. I reccomend looking at Jaycar gear, good value for money in lower end market. www.jaycar.com.au
