Guys,

In two minds whether to upgrade to the premium stereo for my BAXR6T.

They say there is a 150W Sub and amp or something when upgrading.

A penny for ppls thoughts?

I'd upgrade because of the current unavailability of stereo upgrades due to the ICC. You could still run speaker ->line convertors and amps but the only way you get the upgraded colour ICC is with premium sound

Also, with the option of leather, is it hard to maintain and easy to care for?

Also when you buy leather shoes they usually stretch, so this would also the the obvious case with leather seats?

I listened to the base setup and the Premium using my own CD and could clearly hear the difference and am going for it.

It gives you tweeters in the A pillar, in dash six stacker, 150watt amp and the sub (not a douf douf job), DSP and a nice idea that allows you to adjust the balance for driver only, passenger etc. You also get the colour screen which matches better with the gauge colours at night and most importantly it displays the Ford Oval at start :)

Can't comment on the leather but have tried it out and its certainly nice to sit on. To me though, the leather interior looks too plain in particular the door trim which reminds me of a taxi pack.

yeah imo those door trims are horrible in the leather equipped cars . . .
When I first got in one I thought they'd put the wrong doors on !

Why not give Herrod a ring and see what they'll do for you seat wise? While I was over for FPV weekend there was a particularily tasteful red suede and black leather interior (Seats, door trims) going into a BA XR8. Wish we'd got an aftermarket job rather than the Ford leather in our AUII XR8!

As for sound, as I haven't heard both of them within a small amount of time I can't really compare them, but the Premium looks (with the larger colour screen) and sounds brilliant!
