FPV TURBO

Well im still having issues with the premium sound in my new XR6 which hasnt even done 2000 kms yet. Its been back to the dealer 3 times and has gone in again today.

The problem is that theres a crackle that can be heard thru the system, the loudness of this crackle can get worse / better depending on the speed the car is travelling at.

Today they are replacing the Antenna wiring as one of the trim clips was pushed thru it from factory.. The big question is, is this going to fix the problem or am I another lemon owner??

If anyone can give me any help or ideas on challenging this issue with the dealer then it would be much appreciated, as Im sick of taking it back already.

My guess, not hearing the actual problem, is that they may actually be right in replacing that.

If not that, (and because you say it varies with different speed of the vehicle) it could be cyclic hum that you can get from poor earthing and power interference.

Still, surely they could swap head-units over under warranty?

Well if its just the radio thats having issues then that might fix the problem. If it's also happening on CD and aux input, then its a headunit related issue.

Replacing the headunit is a time consuming, delicate and expensive exercise for a dealership to perform. It will be the last thing they try.

I'd check for earth leakages first - or a poor earth connection.

* Gearbox (3rd time)
* Steering click (5th time)
* Brake Shudder (2nd time, and has the applied "Fix")
* etc...

It didnt really take them four times, just that no parts up here in QLD caused me to have to take it back TWICE...
