Replacement Head Units

One of the things that I like about having a good factory head unit is the continued use of the steering wheel controls.

Apparantly Blaupunkt have adapters for their head units (those compatible with Blaupunkt's own remote) for VT, VX, AU I & II with III coming.

Being German gear it'll be good solid gear, not sure of their sound quality though.

An option for those looking for new head units!

blaupunkt

blaupunkt is very expensive for a reason, german quality, good sound, good equipment.

anyone who runs a kenwood of sony are the lower class people *grin* i personally hate sony/kenwood as u can tell :)

Blaupunkt and JVC and Pioneer have kits im sure.

Let's see...

Can it play a CD-ROM filled with MP3's?

Blaupunkt: No
Kenwood: Yes

I voted with my wallet a year ago and haven't looked back since. Why have a clunky and fiddly stacker when you can squeeze around 165 songs (ranging from 128 to 192 kbps) onto a single CD???

Because MP3 is a heavily compressed audio format that on good quality gear can be exposed for the half-arsed, good for pirates format it is.

Don't get started on a mp3 debate either, I only recently shut down my own record label and I fully understand the implications of mp3 more than most.

Mark, The blaupunkt gear is solid stuff. But very European and boring looking..

Check out their Head Unit/Sat Nav + Stacker combo System...
Not to shabby...
