Im pretty sure they 5 1/4 just havent gotten around to taking my doors off. Will 6" fit and for people that are running splits where did you mount the tweeter?
EF Fairmont has 6" fronts - I would think that the EL XR has the same (but could be, and probably am, wrong). The splits should mount in the top of the dash (there should already be speaker grilles in the dash, but no tweeter).

i got 6.5" splits in mine, i drilled new holes, and there was a piece of cardboard between the door metal and the speaker, i could have prolly done it without the cardboard, but i was in a hurry :)
yeah, just wanted a real tight fit.
could have prolly done it without out it, but it seems to sit nicer, might look at changing it later.
i couldn't get the panel off under the windscreen, so i put em on the doors, made wiring a hell of a lot easier.
