Hey everyone, first off I would like to say hi!

I have installed a complete stereo system into my girlfriends 95 probe about 1 year ago, and recently she has been having major problems with her car. When she took it in to get checked the mechanic said the reason for her problems was that her timimg was way off and that by me disconecting the battery when I installed the system that screwed everything up. I was just wondering if anyone here has incountered this before? Or is this mechanic full of s###?

Sounds like he's full of it to me buddy. Mine uses fully electronic ignition and disconnecting the computer doesn't kill it.

In any case, how the hell does he expect to be able to adjust that sort of timing?

well it must do stuff to some cars, as when you get your batt replaced by RACV they plug a batt pack into your cigg lighter so the computer doesnt lose its settings or something right?

Yeh but it'll relearn in about 500 ks or so.
Won't screw it like that.
