I'm looking into getting a new head unit and these 2 have caught my eye..

Also if any of you out there work selling this stuff I thought I would give you a chance to put your best price to me for these head units.. I wont buy unless they have warranty either so no EBAY

The pioneer one doesnt have DVD and the Eclipse does. Both are MP3 capable.

What are peoples thoughts on these 2 good or bad???
Does anyone here have either of the above????

The Eclipse all-in-one unit has a poor laser eye for reading CD/DVD etc.. from what I have heard. Breaks down and doesn't work at all after some time.

If you looking for a all-in-one unit (I am too) have a look at Kenwoods DDX-7045 unit. Pricey but damn good. I've being eyeing this unit for the last year or so, but they keep updating them with more good features all the time, not helping my cause as I keep thinking the next update will be better. One thing, as you and I have the same Sat Nav unit :s6: the remote has to be in it's cradle and hard wired permanently, can't use freely like you do now. If you plan to have the screen mounted seperately, then no probs, you can you the sat nav input for something else, maybe reverse camera?

Kenwood's Aussie site doesn't have much info on this unit. Do a search on some overseas reviews, pretty good unit I must say.

You guys both have au's by the looks, you may find you might have to do some custom work to ya dash if ya want to put a double din deck in it because of the way the dash slopes back at hte bottom (ie. you may have the head unit pokeing out at the bottom because the dash is not square)

I'v looked at mine a few times but decided against trying just at the moment.

Also JVC have a model simmilar to the Pioneer above for same money RRP. In my opion looks better, worth looking around tho.

Just make a fibreglass shroud for the head unit so that it still fits flush and sits at the desired angle was what i though

I know Eclipse head units are second to none quality wise. If you have an ear for detail, then you can't go wrong.
