I was looking in the NSW Tickford owners club,and

i know its not an EA but this ED XR8(with heaps of mods) has been dyno tested and it pumps

151 kw at the rear wheels, without nos,turbo ect

so it got me thinking what the would be the max amount of power the 3.9 EA Motor could make ?

with a full exaust system,cam,turbo,intercooler ect ?

.........How good would it be ?

just a thought.

theres no real way to tell, if you had the money then 1000HP would easily be attainible with 3.9L. they get that much out of the 3.0l vl engines.

i was just saying if poeple can do it with a 3L engine then there is no reason the 3.9 ea engine cant do it with the right money.

151RWKW isnt alot for a Normally aspirated 5.0L Windsor.
Hell you can get that out of our 4.0L six normally aspirated.

Ive been in an Au XR8 with 207RWKW which has a stroker, heads, cam, intake etc. With still more power to come....
It has a slight rough idle, but probably no worse than your average EA or VN.....

151kw XR8...

Wouldn't that only be about 200kW or less at the flywheel?? Thats one sad V8 buddy...

How much from a 3.9?? I guess someone would have to get the head flow tested in standard form and that might point at the initial limitations and then head work would need to be carried out. I'd have to say that nearly all Ford stuff would need to be replaced to get real power out of it such as injectors, engine mangement, and I reckon the twin cam head would help. If the $$$ and motivation was there the only stock item left would be the block...

a few points

* Martin - was that Aussie Pete's xr8 (ford forums) ???

* Acidburns - 250rwkw for $2,500 ??? sounds hard to believe mate.

* Westkoast EA - as others have said 151rwkw isn't much out of a 302 Windsor. When i get my EF (or maybe ed, eb) 4.0 six (n/a) and do it up, i'm aiming for 170 - 200 kw @ the wheels and that's with by no means a huge budget.

Subject: EA Falcon

I have a modified EA Falcon, only mildly though, and would like something to give it a real kick... What are the prices of a super charger/Turbo/Nitrous for the EA Falcon, 3.9L/4.0L?
