146rwkw from a stock BA6 with a SCT tune

Here in Perth (look at the ecu and programming/ecu section) BPT and D&T watched a ba6 that was stock as a rock punch out 146rwkw with just a SCT tune.

Here is what was said:

I am proud to announce that BPT/D&T in Perth were the first to see, touch and use in real life the SCT/CAPA Flash Tune software and hardware.

Let me start off by saying... This is some awesome gear. The complete package from a tuning point of view is everything and more that I expected.

The first cab off the rank was a bulk STOCK XT 6 cylinder, within two tweeks of the software we achieved a very conservative figure of 146rwkw's from a stock level of 133rwkw's.

There was no smoke and mirrors with what you are going to see, just fact and tested by us in person.

Im interested to find out what the difference between a SCT tune and a Unichip is. Cause from what Im seeing, its gives basically the same gains from both, with maybe a slight difference between the both.

The reason why Im saying this is my parents car has had a Unichip installed in it and it was 134rwkw stock and after the chip was installed it was putting out 143rwkw.
So if someone could explain the difference between the chip and the tune it would be great.

The unichip is a piggy back interceptor that just resends a modified version of spark/fuel maps.
The Edit basically removes the original program and substitutes a complete new version of fuel/spark tables, without the need of a separate computer

basically, it dont matter how you go about the mods, eg. chip or interceptor. it comes down to the fuel and spark fed to the engine, both can be tuned to exactly the same figures... it then comes down to the experience of the guy tuning it and how far he wants to push it
