My times came down to dumping the clutch at around 2000 and hanging on. That and pure luck haha....probably.
Oh and its a manual.

I *think* the cars were comparibly similar in weight.
I never changed out of third gear when I did all my runs @ WSID except when I botched second to fifth....

Also don't compare dyno printout's when comparring two different vehicle's, they will be different on different occasion's, there is to many variable's to take into account here.

If you accept that the 400m is all about power to weight modified by gearing and launch then its clear the manual XR6 sedan has the best launch and the lowest gearing so its going to go well. Soxx's ute rear leaf springs are too hard compared to the XR6 springs even lowered. The terminal speeds tell us who has the power though soxx's extra 2mph doesn't sound much but it means that its got much more power. The wagon compares badly but its the heaviest an auto with only three gears and all of them higher than the others so its not surprising. puting the terminal speeds and weights into tci calculators I get 192kw for soxx, 175kw for loxxr6 and 162kw for the wagon.
The basics are power, weight, gearing, traction and launch. Dynos lie a lot too. It would be intersetng to see the cars on the same dyno same day.
Too many variables to condend with. Weight, gearing, launch grip, gear changes, track conditions, temp, etc etc.
I agree totally Casper but Rick had done his best time there so is Loxxr6 just lucky?I would find it hard to believe...Loxxr6 has got to be stoked with his results
