1984 KB Laser problems
G'day all,
Having some problems with my girlfriends Laser, hope someone might have some insight.
Its been a bit rough lately, and on Friday night it started playing up a bit more. Its a 1.5L carby model with electronic ignition (unsure when these things started coming out with EFI), 3 speed auto. Sunday afternoon I dropped the oil out (it was like tar.. bloody awful..) replaced the plugs (old, but no oil on them) and oil filter. Car was now idling a lot happier, and running a lot better, still is, when it actually runs.
Now, when the car idles, it all seems happy. When it is put into gear though, it stalls unless the revs are kept up. This makes for some interesting foot manuvers with the brake and accelerator, and the choke.
Can sit the car and idle it for eternity without any hassles, there isn't any lope in the idle, sounds healthy, and doesn't blow smoke.
If anyone has any ideas as to why the little yellow beast is stalling when put into gear, that would be fantastic.
