A mate was telling me to do it.. It should increase compression i believe.

Anyone heard of this and/or tried it?

The engine is in an xf ute.. 5 spd man with a 390 holley.. cam will be mild+

has no affect with compression.. as you are not increasing the stroke..Get the race series rebuild kit about 500-600 bucks and get the smallest dish posible.. im running this set up there very good. i have 300 hp, with decent head and cam

it would increase compression if the std pistons were used wouldnt it? im thinkin it would bash the combustion chambers up....
i dunno what type of pistons u would use, i wouldnt be suprised if acl made some for this application

the advantage over the 200 rods which are longer is that it reduces the bore wall load/friction. usually makes the engine a bit revvier. the more mods done to the motor the more theyll do. a bit like puttin 302 rods in a 351.

ACL make piston especially designed for 200 rods in a 250.

If you don't use the correct pin height pistons it will definately increase compression, straight into the bottom of the head.

The compression ratio is affected by the use of longer rods, because the swept volume is the same (same crank throw) but the TDC chamber volume is less (piston is higher in the bore). So the compression ratio in increases.
