Hi,
I was talking to one of my mates who races TE Cortinas in stock cars over in WA and the blokes got about 8 200ci 6's lying around. Apparently the 200 head gives way better compression. Is this true for fitting the iron head to the ULP XFLOW (1987)? Can you do it? How much of a pain in the arse is it going to be? Hardened valve seats etc. Any advice would really help as I can either go down this ption and get the head itself for free, source an EFI head and hope it's not in too bad nick or get mine rebuilt and ported. What's the better option?

IMO, I would never put an iron head on the crossflow! it may give better compression but the flow on those heads would be way down on the alloy head.

If your car runs ULP and you want better compression, take your head down to a mchine shop and get it shaved down. It's pretty cheap to have done and will cost a huge amount less than having hardened seats put into the leaded head.
